16u UDC won the USSSA Sanctioned and Qualifying tournament " Summer Hope Tournament " in Evanston. Team went undefeated at 5-0  Click on picture to enlarge.  Congratulations to the 15U Upper Deck Cougars American baseball team for winning the 2010 Illinois USSSA State Championship at NIU in DeKalb, June 18-20. After pool play, the Cougars entered the single elimination tournament as the 8 seed to face the number 1 seeded Lake in the Hills Thunder. The Cougars defeated the Thunder 9 - 5 to advance to the semi finals to face the Plainfied Hitmen. After 7 innings of play the score was tied 5 - 5. The Cougars put up 6 runs in the top of the 8th and held the Hitmen to 1 run in their half of the inning and won 11 - 6. This setup an all Upper Deck Championship with the National team. Both teams battled for the title, but in the end the American team came out on top 7 - 5.
